Seizing the Day: When is the last time you took a risk?
Have you ever flown by the seat of your pants and seized a moment or opportunity that’s passed your way? Have you ever decided that you want to live more in the moment then felt guilt or regret after the moment has passed?
It could be anything from taking a second helping of dessert to raising your hand to do improv at a comedy club to registering for a race spur at the last minute ~ you do it then an hour or a day or a week later you think..”Oh no, what did I just do?”
Yeah…me too.
In my world I kindly refer to it as suffering from an emotional shit-storm. Everything seemed great when I was on a high from the natural endorphins of life but man, the guilt, self-doubt and judgement I’ve cast upon myself for some decisions I’ve made has been crippling.
In today’s video I share the best ways to navigate through that emotional second guessing period and make it through with fewer scars.
Here’s the deal – a life worth living will be a life filled with new experiences. Invariably those new experiences will result in both failure and triumph, embarrassment and pride, fear and courage, that’s simply the art of living.
When seizing the moment results in an experience that turns out to be less than positive, I want you to remember it’s ok. In fact, this is how you learn. Don’t waste your energy beating yourself up for something that has already happened and is over. Instead, use those feelings to help guide you in the direction you want to go in your future.
I’d love to hear how you’ve taken a chance, seized the moment and what happened after. Drop down into the comments box below to share!
