Let’s talk about the power of goals…
And I mean a specific “do this, by then” kind of planning.
Here’s why…
You want to lose weight. You want to feel healthy. You want to like what you see in the mirror. That’s why you’re reading this. And perhaps you’ve started but sticking with it often seems impossible.
Life gets in the way and you slowly start putting yourself last. And every time you have to start all over again, failure creeps in making you feel like maybe it’s just not possible for you?
Sound familiar?
I know because I’ve been there. In fact, very recently, I had to take a hard look at how I was “sticking to it.” I was drinking too much coffee. Bedtime kept getting later and later. I was skipping the gym and I knew I needed a hard reset.
Enter goal setting…
For those of you who don’t know I’m getting married this summer!
And let me say this before I go any further, the focus isn’t about just looking good in a dress (although, of course, I want to wear something I love).
But it’s always about something much deeper for me – and I know it is for you, too. It’s about tapping into what helps me feel my best – smart eating for energy, a solid sleep schedule, and gym time to feel healthy and strong.
We often think it takes so much to create big health shifts but it’s the smallest things.
Right now, for me, my wedding is kicking me into gear.
So, now I ask you – what goal will you set for yourself?
It can be a major life event you want to look and feel good for but it can also be a goal you simply establish for yourself.
Here’s a few ideas…
- Walk every day for 30 minutes from now until September and track your progress.
- Plan a mid-summer getaway and let that be your motivation.
- Take out that favorite pair of jeans you’ve been wanting to wear and get going.
- Sign-up for a 5k or a race for charity and just start moving.
It’s all about setting a date and making a commitment. Because until there’s commitment, there’s only hesitancy.
